After attaining initial commercial success, the online retail giant Amazon stopped the sale of "The History of the Palestinian People: From Ancient Times to the Modern Era" on Tuesday citing user complaints.

The book made up of nothing more than a cover and 132 blank pages was "authored" by Assaf Voll, who holds a master's degree in Judaic Studies from Haifa University. At one point it was the 341st most sold book on Amazon.

Voll told the website "United with Israel" that Amazon explained the decision by stating that “during a quality assurance review of your CSP catalogue, we found that your book(s) are resulting in a disappointing customer experience. Indicators of a poor customer experience may include customer refunds and feedback. As a result, the following book(s) have been removed from sale on Amazon.”

Voll rejected this, telling "United with Israel" that there were other books with no pages sold on Amazon. He cited "Reasons to Vote for Democrats: A Comprehensive Guide" which had been a bestseller.

He also rejected claims that he was deceiving those purchasing the book, saying anyone who bought the book could click on the preview and see what it was. “There was no intention of deceiving anyone,” he said.
