Sea of Galilee
Kinneret

Located in Eastern Galilee, the Sea of Galilee, or Lake Kinneret, is the largest freshwater lake in Israel, and the lowest freshwater lake in the world.

The Sea of Galilee is 21 km long, 13 km wide, has a total area of 166 km², and maximum depth of 43 meters. Its main source is the Jordan River, which flows through it from North to South.

Featured in the New Testament as the region in which Jesus performed the majority of his ministry and miracles, the Sea of Galilee is a destination for Christian pilgrims.
