American hard-rock legends Guns N' Roses will arrive in Israel for a one-off performance this summer, sources within the show's production told Haaretz on Thursday.
The exact locations and date of the performance has not yet been confirmed.
Rumors of an Israeli stop of a GNR tour have been circulating nearly annually since the band's last Israel show – their now legendary 1993 show in Tel Aviv, part of their Use Your Illusion tour.
However, if indeed L.A.-based group performs in Israel, it will be quite a different bunch taking the stage than that who rocked Hayakon Park almost 20 years ago, with only front man Axl Rose and keyboardist Dizzy Reed remaining.
Most notably, the band is missing perhaps its biggest star, other than Rose, in guitarist Saul Hudson – AKA Slash – who has been locked in what seems like a perennial feud with Rose ever since jettisoning the band in 1996.
Key former members assembled elsewhere under the moniker Velvet Revolver, which includes Slash, past GNR bassist Duff McKagan, and drummer Matt Sorum.
In 2008, the somewhat depleted new version of Guns N' Roses released the band's first album in 15 years, Chinese Democracy, which was certified platinum in the U.S. in 2009.
