Israel has selected four men bowlers to participate in the annual Hong Kong Tiger Tournament starting this weekend. The foursome is led by experienced international George Kaminksy, who will skip for Chaim Sheffer, Colin Silberstein and Raymond Sher.
With warm relations now restored between the two bowling associations following a 10-year gap, this is Israel's second successive participation in the tournament.
For Silberstein and Sher, this will be a second successive appearance. The foursome will be competing in the events with participants predominantly from Southeast Asia, including teams from Malaysia, Brunei, the Philippines, China, Thailand, Singapore and South Korea.
Despite the lack of diplomatic relations between Israel and some of the other participating countries, such as Malaysia and Brunei, contact between all the players, both on and off the green, is always pleasant and cordial.
