A video posted to YouTube claims to show a pro-Israeli mob rioting on a Paris street on Sunday, on the sidelines of a pro-Palestinian protest outside a synagogue.
The video, titled "Pro-Israelis who break everything in front of the synagogue on Rue de la Roquette," shows dozens of youths wielding sticks, helmets, chairs and tables as they approach what looks like a group of pro-Palestinian protesters. The rioters proceed to throw the furniture at the other group, visibly wounding at least one man. The pro-Palestinian group appears to respond in kind shortly before they clash is broken up by police.
Recent violence in Gaza has raised emotions in France, home to Western Europe's largest Muslim population and largest Jewish community.
The incident occurred as pro-Palestinian protesters tried to force their way into the Don Isaac Abravanel synagogue in eastern Paris, then fought with security officers who blocked their way, according to police and a witness.
