A Jewish student at London School of Economics has launched an unconventional charity campaign and is auctioning off her relationship status on Facebook to raise money for the Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity for Children.
Marina Gerner, a postgraduate student studying Politics and Communications has promised that the highest bidder will be “in a relationship” with her on Facebook for one month. She has promised weekly wall posts including (but not limited to) small talk, poems, songs and jokes, all per winner’s preference.
Gerner is also open to Facebook chats when both she and her Facebook boyfriend or girlfriend online, claiming to be a good listener who gives “good advice on all aspects of life”.
Personal meetings or a “real relationship” are not included in the month-long relationship, and the winner can terminate the status before the month’s end should they choose. The auction winner must be over 18.
