A stunning and mouthwatering halva-coated recipe.
12 chocolate-chip cookies
1½ cup confectioners' sugar
¾ cup ground walnuts
½ cup ground coconut
⅓ cup peanut butter
1¼ stick margarine
½ cup chopped almonds
1 packet baking chocolate
1. Blend cookies in a processor. Place in bowl, add all ingredients except for the baking chocolate & mix until smooth. Form 1/2 the halva mixture into small hi-li sized balls. With the other half, form smaller size balls. (you will have 2 sizes of balls) . To form pear shapes, place smaller sized ball on top of larger ball.
2. Pinch "waist" gently to form into pear shape. Place in freezer for 1 hour, until solid frozen. 3. Melt baking chocolate over double boiler in small pot. Dip each halva pear into chocolate, allowing excess to drip down.
4. Allow pears to cool on a parchment-lined cookie sheet. Using a sharp knife, cut around the base of the pear to remove excess chocolate. Poke a tiny hole on top of each pear with a toothpick, & insert tiny purchased leaf.
Pears can be frozen before served.
