For anyone who didn't know Harvey Pekar personally as I did, I recommend watching the movie "American Splendor" based on his life, in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. Pekar was a self hating Jew of the likes of Philip Roth and Noam Chompsky but with much more bitterness and much less intellect. May he rest in peace as unfortunately, he had little of it during his lifetime.
