A video showing the only live footage of Anne Frank ever recorded was uploaded to YouTube by the Anne Frank House of Amsterdam on Wednesday.

The video, which shows the front of the apartment building where the Frank family lived, was shot on July 22, 1941, about a year before the Frank family went into hiding in a concealed apartment.

The opening shot of the video is of the front of the building; the camera then follows a couple as they walk down stairs. From there, the camera moves up the building where Anne is seen in the window of the second floor apartment gazing in the direction of the young couple walking down the street.

An additional video showing an interview with Frank's father, Otto, is expected to be released on to YouTube soon. The video will also contain footage of an interview with Miep Gies, the Frank family friend who found Anne's diary after the Nazi's captured the family. Gies later gave the dairy to Otto, the sole survivor out of eight residents who lived in the hidden apartment before being discovered.

The Anne Frank House said that because their teaming up with YouTube, people around the world will be able to see and learn about Anne Frank and her diary.

Anne Frank died because of the absurdly cruel machinations of the gutless, despicable creature Hitler. End of story.

This is so sad. To think that this innocent girl was dead two years later, simply because Germany embraced an evil man as its leader. Anne could still be alive today but for Hitler. What a terrible, terrible thing to have done to this girl. Millions suffered her fate but this moving image of Anne really brings home their combined fate, reaching out beyond the cold, hard statistics to provide a human face to the tragedy. I hope there is a hell and that Hitler and his henchmen are still being spit-roasted like the lowly pigs they were. I look at this girl and I can never forgive them. God bless Anne and all other victims of the Holocaust.

Well, Jeff, sometimes the truth is "upsetting." I recommend to both you and your daughter that you look at the Anne Frank Diary affair a bit more closely. You will discover how the zionists have used it propagandistically for decades, and embellished the story with numerous lies and distortions.

So maybe you are giving a point there but should people give up their lands simply because of these things you mentioned? Hatikva is the name of Israel national anthem and Hatikva means hope and hope requires struggle just as we all struggle to get our living needs among all different difficult circumstances. Each struggle has its own casualities..pitty enough but hard to avoid.

It's sad that I sent my young daughter this video to watch for she was so impacted by the book that she she has become interested in Darfur and Rwanda but has to read Mr. Hollingworhts' non sensical and irrelevant remarks on the "how Anne had died" and so forth. She was engulfed in the madness of the holocaust, may it be Typhus while in the the death camp, shot or ovens, period; many young people do read the comments on the article and therefore find it repungnent and senseless in upsetting my daughter and people of her generation with your childish anti semitic babble whereas, one day you'll you'll probably regret what you had posted. If you plan and having or have children, decency is in order and funnel your love of incitive rhetoric for real and more admirable concerns ie: Iran, Korea and many others; stand up and be exemplary and you will really feel better about yourself rather than regret allowing young people, including my my 10 year old daughter to feelfear that people lik

We were given (completely free) the territory for a homeland / state, way before Hamas came on the scene. Israel began illegally acquiring Palestinian territory, by war, before Hamas came on the scene. Hamas are a reaction to Israel's illegal activities.

Anne Frank?s story is about a life of a young human being whose only wrong was that she was Jewish. That blind hatred by any means is an abomination in the eyes of God. Yes, Hollingsworth it is ignorant biased people like you that Mr Frank wanted to enlighten. Hopefully millions of school children will read the diary of Anne Frank and by doing so they will learn of civility, humanity and the immorality of the cruelty of hatred. At the end of it all, she and her family were taken to Auschwitz where she was lucky enough to be selected to perform labor in the Birkenau slave labor facilities and she succumbed to Typhus as did tens of thousands of others, Jew and gentile alike. However Hollingsworth because she was healthy enough to be selected to perform slave labor under starvation does not disprove the fact that Aushwitz was an extermination camp were thousand were gassed and their bodies turned to ash by the crematoriums. But you do not believe that the Nazis and their allies murdered and the Holocaust was a lie. So it was for people like you that Mr Frank attempted to educate about humanity and morality and sadly in your case he failed.

Please consider that there would be no Hamas nor any harm to any Palestinian if they would accept peace and accept it within the areas of Gaza and the West Bank. That the whole issue of displaced Palestinians living in squalid refugee camps is the fault of the UNWRA and the surrounding Arab countries to not extend citizenship and absorb them as Israel did to more than 900,000 Jewish refugees from 22 Arab countries. That Israel is the sole Jewish country in the world surrounded by lands that freely proclaim Islam as their sole religion. Yes Mr Razoynik there is a solution to the problem but Hamas wants a Final Solution.

Sorry, but no. We did not know what really happened until much later. Millions of school children read the diary of Anne Frank, thinking that at the end of it all, she and her family were taken to Auschwitz and exterminated, reportedly by gas. That was a lie, of course. She died, as did tens of thousands of others, jew and gentile alike, from the disease Typhus. Anne's father survived her by several years, into the 50s, I believe, or perhaps longer. Mr. Frank was not exterminated. We understand now that he may have made quite a few shekels from her book, parts of it having been written by himself. The Diary went through at least two other revisions. So let's stop shedding all those crocodile tears.

I hate Hamas as well, but are you aware that without Israel there would be no Hamas? Do you really feel secure in a country surrounded by angry displaced Palestinians, a country that needs a nuclear arsenal and bloody incursions into Arab territory in order to survive? Do you approve of all the slaughtered Arab children, the refugee children living in sqaulid camps who are all too often targeted by Israeli bullets? What would Anne Frank say?

What makes this piece of social history even more poignant is the obvious fact that the couple have just been, or are about to be married. They look happy and carefree and Anne and the neighbours are sharing the joy of life and hope with them. The short film shows a slice of normal life, soon to be destroyed by the abnormal, hopeless, joyless, life crushing jackboot.

Will you agree that Anne Frank did not die in the "gas chambers?" The "absurd cruelty" she experienced was Typhus, March 1945.

ANNE FRANK. A long & cruel night of terror, murder & rape, descended upon Israel. To the very people who gave them even their little god! Beaten, bashed & thrown out of their beloved Land-Israel. Scattered to the four winds of the earth,by the very people, the Christians, who robbed them & twisted their religion to suit, their own transient revenge! 2,000 years. Christianity played havoc with our very existence. Throwing every vile lie, & brutality our way. BuT A day will come ! Yes ! A Day will come ! There will be Judgement ! And in that Day of Judgement the score will be balanced ! Nay! the score will be in Israel's favour ! And Israel shall become a great nation ! And No One will ever dare to harm & desecrate our women folk, neither our old nor our our youth,Nor our Land anymore ! Bow yor heads & hear the bells tolling, for a new & great day for everlasting Israel !

Good idea, to put this film on Youtube. It was already known for many years, I remember it was first shown in a BBC documentary. Each time I see the film, it brings shivers up my spine: such a happy, young girl, such an innocense. So unconceivable to realise what was about to happen. Because the madness of the Holocaust is so difficult to accept or understand, it is of utmost importance to show, to teach, to keep talking about it. And a film like this shows: it wasn't just 6 million Jews that were murdered, it was 6 million murders of a Jewish individual.
