At least 10 teens contract swine flu during 'Birthright Israel' trip

Teens reportedly infected 18 IDF troops who traveled with them; Teens were quarantined for a short time.

Around a dozen participants on a 'Birthright Israel' trip contracted swine flu during their tour of Israel and were put under quarantine, Israeli media reported on Tuesday.

The teens reportedly infected 18 Israel Defense Forces troops who participated in the trip with them.

Around 131 people have been diagnosed with swine flu in Israel, with around one-third of those having become infected in Israel. No one in Israel has died from the virus.

During the current outbreak, over 35,000 people in 76 countries have become infected with the virus, and 163 have died.
