Moishe Rosen, founder of Jews for Jesus, died of prostate cancer last Wednesday in his San Francisco home. He was 78.

Rosen officially founded the world's largest Jewish messianic group, which believes that it is not a contradiction to be Jewish and to accept Jesus as the Messiah, in San Francisco in 1973 and led the organization until 1996.

The organization, which has members from both the Jewish and the Christian faith, maintains a print and an online newsletter which is distributed to over 200,000 readers. It has not been well accepted by mainstream Jewish institutions.

The organization runs branches in Israel, the United States, Australia, South Africa, the U.K. and Russia.

The Web site offers extensive explanation and illustrations about the organization's practices, including Evangelistic literature which backs the rationale behind the conjoining Judaism with the Christian based belief that Jesus Christ is the Messiah.

Rosen, who was raised to two Jewish parents in Denver, Colorado, converted to Christianity with his wife in 1953, an act which alienated his family. However, Rosen continued to practice Jewish customs, such as the Passover Seder and fasting on Yom Kippur.

He was a practicing Evangelical Christian and received a Doctor of Divinity Degree from Western Conservative Baptist Seminary and has published ten books
.
According to the New York Times, Rosen left instructions that he wished to be buried in his tallit, the traditional Jewish prayer shawl.

Rosen is survived by his wife Cecil, his two daughters, Lyn Rosen Bond and Ruth Rosen, and a son, Don Rosen. They all work for the Jews for Jesus Organization.

I Attended a Jews For Jesus Info Presentation. Slide After Slide Featured the Aqsa Mosque as the Anti-Christ That is "Just Delaying" the Rebuilding of the Temple and the 2nd Coming of Christ.

It was Evident that Moishe Rosen's Sect Uses the Christ only as a tool to get a Jewish Extremist View of "a need " to replace the Mosque with the Temple, Supported and Implemented . When I asked Whether it was Worth Getting the World into its Final Divide and a non-Ending New World War, His Answer was that the Scenario was was due to Take Place Anyway, So it was better sooner rather than later. There is nothing Christian About Mr. Rosen's Sect , Certainly Not its Agenda.

It is a disgrace to see people who claim to represent God publicly celebrating the death of Moishe Rosen. To rejoice over the downfall of your enemies is profoundly un-Jewish. In any case, Rosen is now with Yeshua in paradise, and the words of those who hate him will not affect him.

To all my Jewish friends in America and Israel. In loving memory of Moishe Rosen, and to his wife Cecil and two daughters, I express my deepest sympathies to you all. Moishe is with the greatest Hebrew I know. Knowing Moishe is with Yeshua and in a new righteous body lessens the sadness of his loss here with us. The promises of Yeshua's birth, his persecution, betrayal, death and ressurection is what every single person, be they dead or alive will soon discover upon His final promise to return. This time as a King, not just for Jews but for all that believed in His Name and His Holy Word. As to those that deny His Holy Name so shall they be denied in the Presence of YHWH. The time is approaching and the fools who delight through disbelief cannot even tell the time much less the weather with all their modern technology. Moishe, my dear friends has weathered the storm that is fast approaching. In Yeshua'sOwn Words : Blessed are you who have seen and believe, but Blessed are they who have not seen yet believe. May the life that Moishe lived be a testimony to one and all. Dear PM Netanyahu, please on behalf of all that are righteous in the world and who support Israel and Jerusalem, as did Moishe Rosen, that you say a silent prayer for the love and kindness that he blessed us all with the compassion of a great Jew. Shalom.

Of course it is not a contradiction to be a Jew and accept Jesus as the Masschiach. I am Jewish and don't think that he was the one, but what if I accept him as the Messiah? Nothing would change in my life. I would still be a Jew. Jesus didn't invent any religion, he was born, lived and died as a Jew. He only preached to Jews. He said he didn't come for the non-Jews (Israel's neighbours were into idol worshiping and making human sacrifices, among other barbaric things), tha he came to the lost sheep of Israel. He told his followers, the apostles - all Jews - not to preach to the non-Jews. He said the Torah should be followed and said (to a Samaritain woman) that (my favourite) "Salvation is from the Jews". Amen. I strongly advice the followers of Jesus to convert to his religion, Judaism. That would make him happy, I am sure.
