Lieberman: Jews must support Israel officials, in spite of politics

Liebermann's request is absolutely irrational. The Israeli govt. realizes that it has thousands of critics among its own people, so Liebermann reaches for this type of logic. Pathetic if you ask me.

let alone the Israeli government of the moment.

Lieberman's advocating a "Love it or leave it" mentality - or blind, unquestioning support.of whatever regime may be in power smacks of the absolute, unconditional adherence to party-politics of his former home-land - and even there criticism and even revolt against government policies or against individual politicians have arisen recently as well as in the not too distant past (less than 100 years ago is only a twinkle in the eye of history).

Does that mean that Israelis have to support the views of American Jews no matter what? After all there are as many of us as there are Israelis, and we're just as important. In fact for obvious reasons Israel depends crucially on American Jews, not the other way around and it ought to show a little more respect.

Do ask any questions, just look into the light.

The Israeli government does not speak for the entire Jewish people. I for one take offense that the government of a small Middle Eastern country in which I do not vote claims to speak on my behalf. The connection diaspora Jews have with Israel is with its people and history, not with the government.

This guy is nuts. Demanding blind support even though one disgrees with his corrupt government. What better reason for a revoultion.

Like it or not, Jews think for themselves and they will not be silenced by anyone, including Israeli leaders. We don't have a Pope, Mr. Lieberman---deal with it.

You are not entitled to respect and support. They have to be earned.

Lieberman is not anti-democratic, just because you don't agree with him. He is democratically elected, and he is in no way "far-right". He is center-right, if even that.
