When you need to bring over a gift, or surprise someone with a great salad, this looks beautiful and is really easy to put together.

1 (12 oz) bag of shredded purple cabbage
1 (12 oz) bag of cut romaine lettuce
½ cup craisins (dried cranberries)
½ cup slivered almonds
1 purple onion, finely diced
1 (1.4 oz) bag bbq tortilla chips, crushed

⅓ cup mayonnaise
2 Tbsp sugar
2 Tbsp vinegar
2 Tbsp water
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 pinch black pepper

1. In a trifle bowl, place the purple cabbage. Layer the romaine lettuce on top.
2. Mix the dressing ingredienst together. Pour it over the lettuce.
3. With 4 skewers or knives, position it so that the topping doesn't mix with the next topping.
4. Divide the top of the bowl into 8, using skewers or knives. Place the topping, alternating between purple and white: almonds, purple onion, tortilla, craisins. Repeat.
