LGBT inclusion to be opening day topic at Jewish Federations GA
A first-ever report on LGBT participation within Jewish organizations in North America will be released on Sunday evening at the GA in Baltimore.
The 2012 Jewish Federations of North America’s General Assembly will devote time on its opening day to an unlikely topic: lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender participation in the Jewish organizational world.
A first-ever report on LGBT inclusion within Jewish organizations in North America will be released on Sunday evening at the GA, being held this year in Baltimore.
The report will be presented at a special reception hosted by Keshet, a national organization that works to promote full equality of members of the LGBT community in American Jewish life, and the report’s sponsors: the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation; the Morningstar Foundation; and Stuart Kurlander, president of the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington and founder of the Gay and Lesbian Outreach and Engagement Program at the Washington D.C. Jewish Community Center.
