Study: Diaspora Jews say occupation, Orthodoxy threaten Israel
Research by a Jerusalem think-tank shows that many Jews abroad criticize Israel's treatment of Arabs and other minorities, and believe the country's democratic and Jewish identity is at risk.
For Israel to exist as a Jewish and democratic state, Diaspora Jews believe it must end the occupation, treat its Arab citizens more fairly and eliminate the Orthodox monopoly over religion.
