Calls for his resignation have come from the government's integration officer as well as Muslim and Jewish community groups.
The bank's corporate governance officer, Uwe Schnieder, said in Frankfurt that Sarrazin would appear on Tuesday. A scheduled meeting of the board had been due to take place Wednesday.
Sarrazin has defended his comments and said he had no intention of leaving the central bank.
In a statement published Monday, the bank said Sarrazin had "damaged the image" of the institution.

Sarrazin is an opinionated, notorious and tiresome attention seeker, additionally he has a book to sell now. He was senator for finances of the City of Berlin and he was constantly agitating against someone, preferably against welfare recipients and Turkish immigrants. Everyone was happy when he was finally shoved away to the Bundesbank, whose members of the board aren't expected to talk in public, at most about interest rates and money supply. However, now finally he may have overstepped the line and get kicked out. Jewish issues are obviously extremely sensitive in Germany and no sane politician (with the exception of the extreme right fringe) will start to talk about Jews, unless to condemn the Holocaust, as touching that issue is a sure career killer. It doesn't matter at all if the statement is correct or not or if it is anti-semitic.
As any ethnic group that doesn't usually marry outside their circle.. otherwise ethnic groups wouldn't look so different from one another... it's why Jews made so many great inventions and ground breaking research and are 22% of nobel prize recipients even though they're just 0.1% of the world's population.
What did he actually say? Without quotes and context this comes off as half baked paranoia.
Mr. Sarrazin should resign...So should rabbi Yosef !!!
If a person is convinced of the correctness of his/her beliefs, what does integration mean? For example, should a secular Brit who lives in Dubai adopt the beliefs and attitudes of an Emarati? What islamophobes mean by integration can be summed up as "we don't like the way you are and we want you to be more like us because our way is superior". This is nothing short of cultural imperialism.
Most antisemites in Europa are also Islamophobic, and they hate blacks as well. Because their focus is currently on muslims, some people seem to think they are different from the classic racist. They are not.
The PC-watchdogs will hunt him down no matter what he says.
I think these are the Germans itself who have a "Nazi" gene and their society is not tolerable not against Muslim, Jews but every other who looks not similar to themselves. This society is close to its logical end with or without Muslims & Jews.
Right. Thats why there are close to 15 million Muslim turks as well as many other Muslims from Arab countries who have fled their own countries for the promise of a better life in Germany and Austria. Its because they are a fascist society that doesn't tolerate anyone who is not like them. Unlike I don't know, Saudi Arabia, which is known for its tolerance towards others especially non muslims!!
This is true for practically all ethnic groups, or else they would not have looked different from one another. This in itself is not anti-Semitic. Nor would it be racist if Sarrazin said that Germans possess a "German Gene". I was told that the author did not claim that the German Gene is superior to other genes, in which case he is not racist either. It appears that the author is complaining of the non-assimilation (or very slow assimilation) of Muslims in Germany's culture. Such a complaint can be valid if he has supportive proof. In any case, Jewish paranoids don't need to get into this fight. Sarrazin is not aiming particularly at the Jews.
so, he is Mentioning the Jewish gene on his book for his love of Jewish race ! According to your analysis Logios.
Until I read the book, I don't see anything outrageous in these comments. If Muslims are not integrating then they should start working on it. His comments about Jews, "Jews all share a certain gene", are said by many Zionists, its a Zionist hoax that was sold well.
This Jackass doesn't get the special place that Germany is in. Thank God that they do have an integration office. May they be as successful as Canada.
He's actually specifically stating that the east european jews immigrating into germany have genes making them more intelligent than other ethnics. what a pity the article forgets to mention that little matter of fact :-) and well, i invite everyone of those people saying that he's making a racist hunt on muslims over to a breakfast in a few berlin areas to make themselves a picture of how willing they are to integrate. on another note: the public discussion is pretty much only relating to how he arguments his points, not the points themselves, which are farely validly pointing out that germany has little to no immigration politics, because every "politician" is afraid and gets shouted at to even say the word "foreigner".
