European Jewish aid ship bound for Gaza ready to sail

Kate Katzenstein-Leiterer, a leader of the German Jewish Voice organization, said the trip being managed by Jews for Justice for Palestinians (JfJfP), a British group. The Jewish activists were already on board, she said, but would not reveal their port of departure.

An organization of European Jews that wants to sail an aid ship to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza said Wednesday its ship was ready to go, but its port of departure remained a secret.

Kate Katzenstein-Leiterer, a leader of the German Jewish Voice organization, said the trip was being managed by Jews for Justice for Palestinians (JfJfP), a British group. The Jewish activists were already on board.

She said detailed information about the voyage would be released the day the boat casts off, but she did not say when this was.

Katzenstein-Leiterer grew up in the former East Germany, to where her committed Communist parents returned after fleeing Hitler's regime in World War II.

Her organization is part of the European Jews for a Just Peace movement, a 10-country peace-activist network.

Jewish Voice in Germany says that it has gathered the funds for its aid ship project from personal donations, loans, and a donation from the Left Party, a party with strong support in the former East.

Earlier, Katzenstein-Leiterer said her group's stance has caused them to be ostracized by the mainstream German-Jewish community, which numbers a little over 100,000.

On May 31 nine people were killed when Israeli naval forces boarded ships in a flotilla carrying aid and activists - some of whom Israel says were armed - bound for the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip.

The Jews allied to the anti-Zionist/anti-Semitic camp are not organizing an "aid ship." Rather they are serving as agents of Hamas dedicated to wiping Israel off the map. Full Stop

Do these fringe figures with a truly distorted sense of morality deserve so much attention? Apparently blinded by hate for Israel, these Jews are working hard to support a blood-thirsty terrorist organization. These are not "peace activists." These are supporters of evil and should be called and treated as such.

If you are unlucky you will be sunk. Just because you may be ethnically jewish doesn't mean your opinion or actions have any merit. You are not welcome. You come at your own risk.

The left wing 'Jews' should be no problem for the IDF and should put up no resistance when their ship is boarded and their useless stunt ended. And Israel should seize and keep the ship to deter the next one of these. Israel's concern should be more terrorists on board ships like the Mavi Marmari.

Don't they feel the ridicule of a campaign that is meant to strenghten Hamas which is actually doing it's very worst to blow the peace-talks .... What a shame, mrs. Katzleitner.

Singing folk songs, drinking beer, and eating sausages with kartoffeln. They must feel so good at their home in Germany. Some people are so weird you just have to let go...

Many of us believe truth, justice, human rights and peace are more important than an insatiable hunger for the land of another. There can be no justice through the deprivation of a whole population for the violence of a few. Similarly there can be no justice without reconciliation that repairs years of damage.

Thank goodness there are gutsy Jews in various places around the globe who will take a stance to show our caring, humanistic side. We are not only conquerers or settlers. We are also those, like it or not, but some of us disagree with the acts and policies of the Israeli government. Why should non-Israeli Jews opinions matter regarding the policies and acts of the Israeli government, you might ask? What business is it of theirs? It's because they only get blamed for what appears disgraceful in the eyes of their countrymen. They don't get thanked for all the achievements of the people of governments of Israel. They often suffer due to our actions of our government or armed forces, and for the lack of corrective action by our citizens. Chazak v'ematz to those onboard! We're behind you, as you are behind a better State of Israel.

If there's one thing the world of 2010 isn't short of, it's people getting dumber and dumber out of desperation to have a meaning in life. It seems the term "Jewish" is used so lightly these days, that pretty much anyone can claim to be, simply by saying so. When the IDF stops their ship and takes them to the Tel Aviv Airport, I'd like each one of them to be asked what exactly makes them "Jewish"??? What complete losers. I say take their ship, and transport them to Kerem Shalom Crossing and let them tell Hamas they are part of the "Jewish Flotilla"... That would be fun.
