Pro-Russian separatists and Ukrainian soldiers continue fighting in Eastern Ukraine over the weekend and into Monday. The violence continues despite a ceasefire that went into place Friday. Ongoing clashes have caused many Ukrainians to flee from the region, some heading over the Russian border. Amongst the violence, a Ukrainian army helicopter crashed on Saturday killing three soldiers. The cause of the crash has yet to be determined, but it is clear that the helicopter was involved in a military operation against the separatists. Both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko called for peace in Eastern Ukraine at separate ceremonies marking the anniversary of Nazi Germany's invasion of the Soviet Union.
