Two Found Dead in Suspected Murder-suicide in Kiryat Ata

Woman in her forties found stabbed to death in her home; woman's husband found hanging in the backyard after supposedly calling a friend to say he intended on murdering his wife.

A married couple was found dead in their Kiryat Ata apartment on Sunday. The woman, in her forties, had stab wounds and her husband was found hanging in the backyard.

Earlier Sunday the husband called a friend and told him he was about to murder his wife. The friend reported the conversation to Magen David Adom.

After locating the telephone from which the murder suspect called, rescue services and medical services arrived at the scene.

After finding the man's body in the backyard, firefighters broke into the couple's house and found the woman, whose body was covered in numerous signs of violence. The rescue services were forced to confirm the deaths of both the man and woman on the spot.

Police investigators began investigating the circumstances of the event, during which they will examine if there were any past complaints of violence within the family.

Last month, a 41-year-old woman was stabbed to death in Be'er Sheva in what police suspect was a murder-suicide carried out by the woman's ex-husband, who jumped to his death shortly after he stabbed her. Magen David Adom rescue services rushed to the scene and took the man to Soroka hospital, where he was also pronounced dead.
