Joakim Noah had 30 points with 23 rebounds - both career-highs - along with six assists and the visiting Chicago Bulls beat the Detroit Pistons for the 16th consecutive time, 108-104 on Friday night. Noah joined Charles Barkley, Dirk Nowitzki and Kevin Garnett as the only players in the last 25 seasons to collect at least 30 points, 23 rebounds and six assists in a game.
Carlos Boozer scored 24 while Luol Deng and Italy's Marco Belinelli added 16 apiece for Chicago (10-8 ), which hasn't lost to its Central Division rivals since December 23, 2008. Rodney Stuckey had 24 points, while Brandon Knight added 21 points for the Pistons (6-15 ), who have dropped four of their last five contests.
Elsewhere, Kevin Durant poured in 36 points, Russell Westbrook had 27 of his 33 in the dominant first half and the surging Oklahoma City Thunder beat the visiting Los Angeles Lakers for its seventh straight win, 114-108.
Kobe Bryant netted 35 points while Dwight Howard finished with 23 and 18 rebounds for the struggling Lakers (9-11 ), who cut a 19-point deficit to five in the final minute before suffering their sixth loss in nine games.
Evan Turner hit the go-ahead jumper with 3.9 seconds left in overtime to cap a 26-point, 10-rebound effort and send the Philadelphia Sixers over the visiting Boston Celtics 95-94. Paul Pierce led the Celtics with 27 points, while Rajon Rondo recorded a triple-double with 16 points, 14 assists and 13 rebounds but missed a potential game-winning corner jumper at the buzzer.
Rudy Gay scored a season-tying high of 28 points and the league-best Memphis Grizzlies (14-3 ) beat the host New Hornets for their sixth win in the last seven games, 96-89. Frenchman Tony Parker scored 17 points, Brazil's Tiago Splitter had 15 to lead six teammates into double figures and the San Antonio Spurs routed the visiting Houston Rockets for their eighth win in nine games, 114-92 despite a game-high 29 points by James Harden.
In other games, the Minnesota Timberwolves felled the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers 91-73; the Atlanta Hawks topped the league-worst Washington Wizards (2-14 ) 104-95; the Milwaukee Bucks bounced the visiting Charlotte Bobcats 108-93; the visiting Denver Nuggets nipped the Indiana Pacers 92-89. Also, visiting Golden State Warriors clipped the Brooklyn Nets 109-102; the Utah Jazz routed the visiting Toronto Raptors 131-99; and the Sacramento Kings edged the visiting Orlando Magic 91-82.
