The Hamilton FX Olim Football League entered the second half of the season with an exciting round of matches. The main match saw first-place England FC playing third-place Ashdod at Ashdod's intimidating home pitch. A physical encounter ended with a surprising 1-0 victory for Ashdod. This was England's first defeat of the season and sees the team move out of the league's top spot for the first time this season.
Taking its place in pole position is England's 'auld' enemy since the league's inception, FC Jaffa, which has a large Scottish and Irish contingent.
Jaffa continued its great form with a fifth consecutive win, this time beating Ra'anana 4-2 in a home fixture. Jaffa's goals were scored by Nir HaCohen, Sam Silverberg, Eyal Hoffman and Nir Madmon. The Ra'anana Meatlanders, who took the lead in the match, scored through Avi Avram and Nadav Forsher.
The top three spots of the table are now separated by only three points.
Elsewhere, last season's champion Jerusalem topped Modi'in 7-4 to start its climb up the league. The winners had goals from Akiva Zneimer (two ), Moishe Lewis (two ), Amit Dinowitz, Eli Warner and an own goal in their favor. Adam Bruce, David Zackon (two ), and Benni accounted for Modi'in goals.
The final fixture was a 1-1 draw between Aviv City and Anglia FC.
