Jtown put itself in prime position to finish first in Israel netball’s regular season with a 54-29 rout of Kfar Etzion last Thursday. Jtown steadily extended its lead from seven points after the first period to 16 by the end of the third, with the final result never in doubt. Ra’anana kept pace in second place with a 32-19 defeat of Tel Aviv.

Jtown only needs to beat Tel Aviv next Thursday to wrap up the regular-season title, barring an unlikely upset in Ra’anana’s finale against Modi’in in the interim. The last time the two teams met, on December 22, Jtown ran away with a 59-23 victory.

As of this week, Jtown is on top of the standings with an 8-1 record and 42 points, followed by Ra’anana (7-2, 38 points), Jerusalem Mercaz (6-3, 32 points), Tel Aviv (4-4, 23 points), Modi’in (1-8, 12 points) and Kfar Etzion (1-9, 9 points).
