Three Israeli vehicles, including two ambulances, were stoned Saturday in the Issawiya neighborhood of East Jerusalem, near Mount Scopus.
The two Magen David Adom ambulances were in the area to aid a Palestinian teenager who had been seriously hurt in a fall.
The stones were thrown from a high cliff above the old Jerusalem-Ma'aleh Adumim road. No one was injured but the three vehicles sustained damage.
Police opened an investigation and initiated a search for the perpetrators of the stone throwing.
In separate incident on Thursday night, four young people - three Israelis from Givatayim and a female Australian student studying at Hebrew University in Jerusalem - made a wrong turn into Issawiya and were attacked by a gang of young Palestinian stone throwers. No one was injured but the vehicle was damaged.
