A Palestinian man, 50, was arrested Thursday near Hadassah Ein Karem Hospital in Jerusalem for allegedly attempting to stab a woman in the area.
The man was apparently imprisoned until recently in an Israeli prison.
According to police, the suspect drew a knife when he spotted the woman and charged in her direction with the pointed straight at her.
The woman escaped and ran toward the hospital security personnel, who then proceeded to apprehend the man with the assistance of a taxi driver who was parked in front of the building.
According to the police, the suspect said during his questioning that he did it "to prove he is not a cooperator," as he was accused by his former prison cell mates.
