Israel Christian Leader Murdered by Man Dressed as Santa Claus

Gabriel Cadis was rest on Saturday afternoon; police investigating whether stabbing was connected to elections within Orthodox Christian group.

Six suspects have been detained in connection with the Friday stabbing death of Gabriel Cadis, a senior figure in Jaffa's Christian community.

Cadis, who served as head of the Orthodox Church Association in Jaffa, was fatally stabbed by a person dressed as Santa Claus on Friday evening during festivities at the St. George church in Jaffa.

Cadis will be laid to rest on Saturday afternoon.

Police are investigating whether the stabbing was connected to elections within the association.

Jaffa residents described Cadis' death as as "an earthquake".
