The Central Elections Committee will deliberate today four petitions calling for the disqualification of the United Arab List-Ta'al from the election race. The petitions were filed by the Likud, National Religious Party, Baruch Marzel and the Hakav Hatsiyoni movement. In its petition, the Likud charges that UAL-Ta'al negates the existence of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state and supports Hamas. Attorney General Menachem Mazuz has told the CEC that he opposes the disqualification requests. Even if the CEC chooses to disqualify the list, UAL-Ta'al will be able to submit an appeal to the Supreme Court.
