Damning Carmel Fire Report Sent to Top Israeli Officials

State Comptroller's final draft expected to recommend removal of Interior Minister Eli Yishai and Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz.

The State Comptroller’s Office on Thursday sent the final draft of its report on the December 2010 Carmel fire to government ministers and officials. Earlier drafts of the damning report raised expectations that Israel's interior and finance ministers would be asked to resign over their failures in dealing with the disaster.

The draft will be sent to all its intended recipients today, who will be given three weeks to comment on the reference to report.
