Organizers of this summer's cottage cheese protest are making the banks and the institutional investors will be their next target.
In a letter sent to Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz Sunday, the people who forced food manufacturers to lower dairy prices stated, "The protest's next campaign as part of its demand for social justice will focus on the banking and financial system, which has grown accustomed to partying at the public's expense with its insane fees and excessively forgiving attitude toward tycoons."
The sector's offenses include the fees on checking accounts and mortgages, the absurdly low interest rates on deposits, the management fees charged on savings accounts, and the lack of interest payments on checking accounts, according to the letter, drafted by Itzik Alrov. Alrov also calls on Steinitz to take action.
