More than 20,000 people have passed through Israel's border with Egypt over last weej, despite warnings of possible terror threats.
Over the last two days alone, 3,800 people passed the Taba Crossing, according to internal data provided by the Israel Airports Authority.
The number of people who have crossed this week is double that expected by the Israel Airports Authority after Israel's Counter Terrorism Bureau issued warnings that terrorists intend to carry out attacks against Israelis and Jewish targets abroad.
"Due to what is happening in the Gaza Strip, terrorists intend to carry out attacks against Israelis and against Jewish targets abroad during the Passover holiday," the bureau's notice said.
It is estimated that by the end of the Passover holiday a total of 68,000 to 70,000 travelers will cross the border.
Almost 50,000 travelers passed the Taba Crossing during the last "Tishrei" holiday season, as did a similar number of travelers during last year's Passover holidays.
