Two toddlers died Wednesday in the village of Al-Sayed in southern Israel after being forgotten in a car.

Paramedics who responded on the scene said that the toddlers, aged 2 and 3, were trapped in the car for several hours.

"We tried to resuscitate them but had to pronounce them dead within minutes," one paramedic said.

Last month a 16-month-old baby died after being forgotten in a car in Ashdod. A preliminary investigation found that the boy's father forgot to drop him off at daycare, leaving him in the car for three hours. He found him dead upon returning to the car.
