Israeli Seriously Wounded in West Bank Stabbing Attack

Incident took place minutes after a Palestinian allegedly tried to ram her car into a group of soldiers near Hebron, but was shot and killed; one Palestinian man also died in clashes with the IDF on the Gaza border.

An Israeli man was seriously wounded after allegedly being stabbed by a Palestinian in an industrial park near Ramallah in the West Bank on Friday.

The suspected assailant fled the scene and a manhunt is currently underway.

In the attack, a 40-year-old was seriously wounded after being stabbed multiple times in his back and chest in the Sha'ar Binyamin Industrial Zone east of Ramallah, paramedics said. The suspected assailant fled the scene and army forces are currently conducting a manhunt.

Later, a Palestinian man identifying himself as Baraa Issa claimed responsibility for the stabbing in a video uploaded to Facebook, hours after the attack took place.

The incident came minutes after a suspected attack against Israeli soldiers was foiled near Hebron when forces shot the driver of a car which the military said attempted run them over.

The alleged car-ramming incident took place in in the southern West Bank in Halhul, north of Hebron, where a stabbing attack took place on Wednesday. According to the army, a female Palestinian attempted to ram her car into a group of soldiers but was shot beforehand. She was evacuated to an Israeli hospital and later died of her wounds. The Palestinian news agency Wafa identified the driver as 72-year-old Sarwat al-Shawari.

Meanwhile, dozens of Palestinians clashed with Israeli troops in several locations along the Gaza border fence. One was killed by IDF fire. According to the IDF, the Palestinians were throwing stones and torching tires, and troops used tear gas and live fire toward the main instigators.

On Thursday, a Palestinian terrorist was shot and killed during an attempted stabbing attack at the Gush Etzion junction on Highway 60 in the West Bank, Israeli army said. No other casualties were reported in the incident. Palestinians identified the attacker as Malak Talal Sharif, a youth from Hebron – the current epicenter of terror attacks.

On Wednesday, a border policeman was critically wounded while stopping an attack at Halhul.
