The Israel Defense Forces released a video Thursday showing how it seized a ship loaded with weapons that were headed for the Gaza Strip.
The forces raided the vessel on Wednesday, which was carrying medium-range missiles, in the Red Sea, about some 1,500 kilometers (930 miles) from the Israeli coast. The shipment was headed for the Gaza Strip via Sudan.
The United States said it helped track the arms shipment, and was prepared to take action if needed. State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said that The U.S. military was prepared to get involved in the seizure of the vessel, but added that Israel "ultimately chose to take the lead."
On Thursday, Iran rejected Israeli allegations that Tehran supplied the Syria-made rockets intended for Palestinian guerrillas in the Gaza Strip.
The IDF said Thursday that it has a great deal of evidence that Tehran was accountable for the shipment.
