Israel Police have discovered a 9mm pistol apparently given as a gift by former president of Iraq Saddam Hussein, Israeli media reported on Thursday.
On Wednesday, police pulled over the driver of a car that appeared suspicious in the Israeli Arab city of Kafr Qasim. Upon searching it, police found a weapon with an engraving in Arabic that read: "A gift from the president of Iraq, Saddam Hussein, for defending his homeland."
The gun was confiscated and the 17-year old driver was arrested for illegal possession of a weapon and for trying to escape custody. The driver said he knew nothing about the gun and denied any ties to the Iraqi regime.
