Hadera events hall Ginat Hadekalim, along with its owners and managers, were convicted by the Haifa Magistrate's Court yesterday of causing water pollution by dumping sewage and disposing waste into the Hadera River between 2001 and 2004. Magistrate's Court Judge Daniel Fisch described the violation as a case of "gross open pollution next to a water source." The events hall was investigated by the Environmental Protection Ministry's Green Police after its owner complained to the Health Ministry about a blocked sewer. (Amit Benaroia)

Medical-technology company LifeWave says that clinical trials of its device used to treat chronic sores, performed on 250 patients, has proven how the electrical pulses emitted by its patented device affect the healing process. The company can now apply for U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval of its concept. CEO Michel Afargan explains that the influence of LifeWave's BST (Bed Sore Treatment) device can now be quantified, buttressing the company's position that its technology doesn't just stimulate the sore, but actually treats it. Yaron Kosteliz, a junior partner at the law firm Dr. J. Weinroth & Co. in Tel Aviv, left his parking tickets unpaid for long enough that a Tel Aviv court ruled he didn't have to pay them because they were over the statute of limitations. In 2006, Kosteliz received a list of offenses dating from 2003 and 2004, and argued that collection proceedings should be suspended until the municipality confirmed his receipt of the tickets. It couldn't do that, but didn't stop collection: in 2007 the city slapped a lien on his bank account. This week the court ruled that the statute of limitations applied, and cancelled the tickets. Israeli businessman Benny Steinmetz is reportedly involved somehow in a deal involving the Russian power company Roskommunenergo and Dubai World in buying the Russian wholesale electricity company OAO OGK-1 for $5 billion, says the Wall Street Journal. The Dubai government investment arm and Steinmetz are reportedly guaranteeing part of the payment. (TheMarker)

The Union of Local Authorities has asked Finance Minister yesterday to intervene in the three-pronged dispute between itself, the Histadrut and the treasury over raises, to avert a strike this Sunday. The ULA rejects an agreement that would cost local governments NIS 400 million that they can't afford, it explains. Funding was purportedly promised from the treasury, which says that it will finance raises only for state, not municipal, employees. Representatives from dozens of municipal worker unions will be meeting Thursday to decide on sanctions. The strike is expected to encompass garbage collection, welfare, parking inspection and more. IncrediMail is back in business with Google. The Israeli Internet content and media firm yesterday announced a new direct agreement with Google, bringing it back to the search giant's AdSense for Search program. Google had terminated its prior relationship with IncrediMail on January 11, sending IncrediMail's stock diving 45% that day and badly injuring the company's revenues stream. No official explanation was provided at the time: Google said only that its Adsense partners had to understand the terms. (Nir Zalik)
