VIDEO: Police anti-terror unit steps up preparations for hostage scenario

Haaretz.com/Channel 10 news roundup for July 1, 2008.

The special anti-terror unit of the Israel Police has recently expanded its drills in order to prepare security forces for an array of possible hostage-taking situations.

Drills have become more intensive and more imaginative since the assassination of Imad Mughniyeh, Hezbollah's second-in-command. Mughniyeh was killed in Damascus in a February car blast with which Israel denies involvement. However, Hezbollah has threatened to take revenge on Jewish and Israeli targets around the world.
