Last update - 14:07 29/06/2008 Israeli film wins people's choice award at Moscow Film Festival By Haaretz Service Tags: For My Father, Israel  Israeli filmmaker Dror Zahavi's "For My Father" captured the people's choice award at the annual Moscow Film Festival on Saturday. The film, which stars Shredi Jabarin, Hili Yalon, and Shlomo Wishinski, tells the story of a would-be Palestinian suicide bomber who falls in love with an Israeli girl who is estranged from her Orthodox family. The film was screened for critics on the second day of the festival, and the director and his two main stars, Jabarin and Yalon, fielded questions from journalists at a news conference. Advertisement "For My Father," a joint Israeli-German production, captured the award by dint of the overwhelmingly positive audience reaction. After the screening of each film, the audience ranks the movies on a scale of 1 to 5. The Israeli film received the highest rating out of all the candidates - 4.7. The 10-day festival featured 16 films that drew a total of 17,000 moviegoers. The festival was founded in 1959 and is widely considered one of the ten most important annual events in cinema screening.
