Two men were shot and killed on Friday evening in separate incidents in northern and southern Israel.

Yussef Hashab, 38, a resident of Israeli Arab town of Kalansua, was shot to death after exiting a grocery store and getting into his car.

Hashab was shot several times. Despite rescue teams' attempts at resuscitation, he died from his wounds on the way to the hospital.

Police have opened an investigation into the incident. After the shooting, a car that had been set ablaze was found outside the city with no license plates. Police suspect it belongs to the perpetrator.

Also on Friday, a Moshe Zeitoun, 24, was shot and killed in Be'er Sheva. The incident appeared to be criminally linked, police said.
