A 21-year-old man has confessed to the murder of his father, 47, whose body was found Sunday in his Jerusalem apartment, police said Monday.

According to police, the son described the murder to investigators on Sunday night. The Jerusalem District Court extended his remand by eight days. A gag order has been placed on the names of those involved.

The police said that the son had been planning to murder in the past few days after the had father commented on his lifestyle. The 21-year-old also claimed that the father abused him, but the police have rejected this claim, based on the son's problematic testimony.

According to the investigation, the son waited until his father left the house and then began preparing the scene in an effort to make the planned murder look a break-in. Apparently, the son then took his father's gun out of the family safe and called his father and told him to come home, telling him that it's an emergency.

The moment the father walked into the house, the son shot him. There was apparently no confrontation before the shooting. After the muder, the son returned the gun to the safe and went to work.

A few hours later, the body was discovered by the victim's eight-year-old son.

Efrat, a neighbor of the family, spoke highly of the deceased.

"He was a wonderful man and a great father. He was always neat and tidy and was constantly hugging his children.
