Teenager stabbed to death at high school in Galilee village
By Eli Ashkenazi, Haaretz Correspondent

A 17-year-old was stabbed to death on Saturday in a high school in the village of Tuba-Zangriya. Police have arrested a youth in connection to the killing, who they suspect may have stabbed the victim in the chest.

The victim was taken to "Ziv" hospital in Safed but died shortly thereafter.

Also in the Galilee Saturday, a 35-year-old resident of Nazareth-Illit man was moderately wounded when his girlfriend stabbed him in the back.

The two, who have lived together for a few years, were reportedly drinking in their apartment when an argument erupted between the two of them. The man reportedly became violent at which point his girlfriend reportedly stabbed him in the back.

Nazareth police arrested the woman, and will ask a district court to extend her remand Sunday.

In the northern village of Turan on Saturday morning, a 39-year-old woman was moderately wounded when she was fired on while sitting in her car talking to some local residents. She was rushed to a Tiberias hospital suffering from gunshot wounds to her back, where here condition stabilized shortly after arrival.

A 60-year-old resident of Turan was arrested in connection to the crime and a judge will ask for a remand extension Sunday.

Initial police investigations have surmised that the shooting was connected to a dispute between local criminal figures in the village.
