Sderot mother arrested on suspicion of breaking her infant's arms

The Ashdod Magistrate's Court has requested a remand extension for a 38-year-old mother from Sderot, who is suspected of assaulting her 14-month-old child and causing bone fractures in his armss.

The woman has denied the suspicions against her.

She was arrested following a complaint by Sderot's Welfare Services, who received word of the child's hospitalization in the Soroka Medical Center in Be'er Sheva.

Police say that, during questioning, the mother denied hurting her son, but that the fractures in his arms, along with other bodily injuries, are the result of abuse. He has been transferred to the care of a foster family.
