Two Israelis found in China; 3 still missing since Monday's quake

Two Israeli students in China who were missing since Monday's massive earthquake have been accounted, Israel confirmed on Wednesday morning.

Ma'ayan Segev and Anat Bilu were found lightly hurt in a nature reserve in the Sichuan province, the Israeli consul in China confirmed.

However, three other Israelis traveling in China have yet to contact their families or the Foreign Ministry. It is unclear where they were at the time of the quake, which measured 7.9 on the Richter Scale.

China's official Xinhua News Agency on Tuesday said the death toll in the quake exceeded 13,000. Tens of thousands were still buried in debris near the epicenter of the earthquake.

Segev and Bilu who were part of a group of students of Chinese medicine from the Reidman College of Complementary Medicine, were alive.

Other members of the student group began searching for Segev and Bilu on Tuesday, and Chinese authorities told the Israeli Embassy they would also join in the search. The Israeli consul in Beijing encountered difficulty getting to the region because the airport there and many roads are closed.

Israel offered Tuesday to send Israeli rescue teams to China, but China said it does not require assistance at this point.
