Spring break - recommended excursions throughout Israel
Blossoming evenings in the Meron, a romantic sunset over the Sharon, antelopes in the Arava-this spring there is no reason to stay at home-here are some suggestions for family excursions into the heart of nature.

If winter was a good excuse to stay at home and snuggle up under the duvet, the onset of spring won't allow you to avoid taking part in some outdoor family fun. Create your own private Exodus from Egypt and hike from the green north to the south with its views over the enchanting desert plains.

North

A family trip to Akko will introduce you to the huge Ficus trees, sail boating alongside the city walls and excellent humus that will leave you wanting more.

Another place that will really make you want to leave winter behind is the Tavor River and surrounding blue lupine fields, white almond groves, refreshing pools and exciting activities in the jeep park.

Glance towards Lebanon and breathe in the spectacular view of the fauna and ancient trees; an appreciation of the flowering on Mount Hermon and a walk to the adjacent town of Pekiin will make you feel good inside.

If you are already in the north, don't miss a family trip to the Zalmon River, that flows from the upper to lower Galilee, surrounded by green pastures, carob trees, a secret pool and a wonderful restaurant. Alternatively, take an enchanting tour of the Carmel Forest and enjoy its bridges, meandering stream and beautiful garden.

Center

In the Sharon National Park, you can expect romantic sunsets, young fawns wandering around freely, a water park and a petting zoo.

Don't skip a family trip to Jerusalem either, including a must-see visit to the City of David.

South

Sand dunes, Eucalyptus and Sycamore trees and a rich variety of seashells-all of this await you on an experiential outing to the Palmachim and Nitzanim Beaches, together with the Bumbamela Festival that offers entertainment for all the family.

If you thought that there was no life in the desert, you will of course be happy to discover the opposite on a two day trip to the Arava, where you will encounter antelope, many animals, beautiful canyons and streams and charming traditional huts. If you are already in the Arava area, don't miss a wonderful trek to the Barak River, a worthy Luna Park substitute!
