Settlers dismantle illegal outpost in southern Hebron Hills
By Nadav Shragai, Haaretz Correspondent
Tags: Hebron, West Bank, settlers

Settlers on Sunday demolished two trailers in the illegal outpost of Beit Yatir Farm ? South, south of Hebron, after Israeli Defense Forces troops and police demolished the nearby outpost of Hazon David overnight.

This is the second time settlers evacuate outposts, in line with the agreement reached between Yesha Council and the Defense Ministry, according to which some outposts would be legalized in exchange for the voluntary evacuation of others.

The dissident Ne'emaney Eretz Israel movement accused Yesha Council of "collaboration."

"This is the present Yesha Council offers the government for Israel's 60th anniversary," the movement said.

Settlers vow to publicize photos of troops who razed Hebron synagogue

The settlers praying at Hazon David synagogue at the of the demolition vowed to post on the Internet the pictures of those who participated in it.

The outpost, named after Hezi Mualem and David Cohen who were murdered at the entrance to Kiryat Arba, was built seven years ago between Kiryat Arba and the entrance to Hebron out of branches stones and pieces of plywood. The outpost served as a synagogue, with worshippers present daily. Since its foundation, the IDF has destroyed the outpost dozens of times, but it was habitually rebuilt.

The congregation council, the Kiryat Arba council and residents of Hebron have announced that they will rebuild the synagogue.

The congregation's representatives announced that they will circulate the pictures of the soldiers and the police officers who took part in the demolition and that "anyone who holds dear the legacy of the state of Israel is welcome to disseminate the pictures, to hang them at the synagogues and make sure that everyone who participated in this act will be cast out and ostracized from synagogues in Israel and around the world."

The settlers have begun posting online the photograph of one of the police officers that participated in the event.
