Friends of missing airman Arad celebrate his 50th birthday for him

Friends of Ron Arad last week marked the fiftieth birthday of the Israel Air Force navigator who has been missing since his plane went down over Lebanon in 1986.

The cheerless party, held in Modi'in, was filmed as part of a new awareness-raising campaign for Arad.

Arad's friends, who were all with him on the IAF's grueling training course for pilots, gave a number of reasons for why they haven't given up hope.
