Last update - 19:07 26/04/2008 Bedouin woman loses hand while handling dud bomb in Negev By Mijal Grinberg, Haaretz Correspondent Tags: Bedouin A Bedouin woman lost her hand Saturday after a dud bomb which she held detonated in the Shivta region of the Negev. A Magen David Adom helicopter arrived at the scene of the incident to administer first aid and to evacuate the woman to Soroka Medical Center in Be'er Sheva. Police would not release further details on the incident, though they do believe the woman, 42, and her family set out to find metal objects. The family entered an area that is marked as a closed firing zone used by the army. Warning signs indicating such are posted at the entrance to the firing zone in Hebrew, English, and Arabic.
