Launch of Amos 3 to raise Israel's status in satellite communications industry

On Thursday morning, the Amos 3 communications satellite will be launched into orbit, further bolstering Israel's status as a satellite communication superpower.

The preparations for the launch of Amos 3 have taken three years and $170 million.

ike its predecessor, the Amos 2, and many other satellites starting with the Sputnik in 1957, it will be fired into outer space from Kazakhstan.
