MK Benizri released from hospital after suffering angina attack
By Yuval Azoulay, Haaretz Correspondent

Shas MK Shlomo Benizri was released Tuesday afternoon from the Bikur Holim Hospital in Jerusalem, hours after he was rushed there by relatives due to severe chest pain.

The MK, who was recently convicted of fraud, had suffered an attack of angina pectoris, hospital officials said.

Doctors ordered a series of tests performed on the MK upon his arrival to the hospital.

Last week, the state requested Benizri serve a sentence of seven years jail time, pay a heavy fine and be convicted of moral turpitude, following his conviction earlier this month of bribery and other violations.

At the beginning of April, the court convicted the former minister of accepting hundreds of thousands of shekels in bribes, breach of trust, and conspiracy to commit a crime.
