6 wounded, 1 moderately, as boulder falls on Givat Olga beach
By Jack Khoury, Haaretz Correspondent
Tags: beach, Israel, Givat Olga

A Jerusalem man in his twenties was moderately wounded Tuesday morning when a boulder detached from a cliff and smashed onto a Givat Olga beach, near the city of Hadera.

Avi Tsafon of the Sharon Region Magen David Adom emergency medical service station told Haaretz that the man was inside a tent, underneath the cliff, when the piece of rock fell.

Having spent the night on the beach with five people, who were lightly injured in the incident, he was treated at Hadera's Hillel Yaffe hospital. Their tents and equipment were buried under the rubble.

Police sealed off the beach as the case was transferred to the National Parks Authority.
