Haaretz.com/Channel 10 daily feature for April 16, 2008.

Tel Aviv has thus far warded off the global housing crisis - the market for luxury apartments in the city center seems willing to withstand the most mind-boggling of prices.

As Tel Aviv's center becomes more and more attractive to Israel and the world's richest, fantasies of single homes and backyards are being replaced by dreams of an apartment in the sky.

There are currently ten luxury high-rises in some stage or another of construction in central Tel Aviv. On Hashoftim street, an apartment in a building that has yet to be built spans 1,500 square meters and is expected to go on the market for 34 million dollars.
