Iran will propose a package of solutions on its nuclear standoff with the West at an upcoming meeting of permanent members of the United Nations Security Council and Germany, state television reported on Sunday.

Foreign Minister, Manouchehr Mottaki said Iran has been preparing a proposal that will have more convergence with the West on the nuclear issue, the report said. Mottaki did not give details on the planned proposals.

isputed nuclear program in China on Wednesday.

The council has imposed three sets of sanctions on Iran for refusing to
suspend uranium enrichment - a program the West contends masks nuclear arms building but which Tehran says is for peaceful purposes only.

Also Sunday, Iran's official news agency reported the head of Iran's atomic energy department has postponed talks with the U.N. nuclear watchdog.

Earlier this week, state media said the head of Iran's Atomic Energy
Organization, Gholam Reza Aghazadeh was to meet Mohammed ElBaradei, director of the International Atomic Energy Agency, on Monday.
